it happens a lot in football... but when a hamstring injury is reported... the initial team or player response is always its no big deal.... the reality is these injuries tend to linger and require at least 3-4 weeks of rest. yet every time a hamstring injury happens... the player or beat reporters indicate initially it may not be a big deal or miss much time. like clockwork. i cant recall a player returning successfully from a hammy injury ahead of the initial projected time missed

tl dr: lester will be out 4 weeks (if he's smart about it)

Let us also not forget that the big vajay follows him in the rotation so you are looking at total destruction of the bullpen in the span of 2 games. I would bring up Steele for the start and then option him the next day and then grab Norwood.

The minor leagues don’t have pitchers hit till AA and AAA, and only then when it is NL affiliates for both teams. Its stupid at this point. You could have young pitchers at the MLB level with less than 50 professional at bats. Its like having some dude come out of the stands to hit.

I like the pitcher batting as much as the next guy, but if that is how the minor leagues are going to play it, it’s stupid to have totally unprepared pitchers batting at the MLB level.

Its also dumb that one league has a DH and the other one doesn’t. That would be like the NFC having two point conversions but not the AFC. Fucking dumb.
