They kind of desere it. This is what happens when you have an awful pro scouting department in addition to falling in love with your own players even though they are clearly shit. This is why the Cardinals experience continued success and the Cubs are 1 and done. The Cardinals would have traded Schwarber and Happ for top line players because they would have traded them with less than a year of MLB service time if not as AAA players. I remember them doing this with Brett Wallace. They drafted him in the first, let him destroy AA and then traded him for a haul. He then got called up and was a right handed Schwarber.

This roster needs to be blown to hell and I am not talking about the expiring contracts. I am talking about the shit players like Schwarber, Happ and Almora. Their stats were cute for rookies (primarily schwarber and happ) but they are extremely flawed players that are a waste of a roster space. If they are not planning on signing Bryant long term then they should get the hell out from under him too. I still think they could bait SD into a deal with him.

I can't see SD giving up all that much, he's arb eligible and making 13 or 14 million this year. I've never really been a believer in him. His swing was always way too long, he's soft and Murphy was the easy MVP choice in 16'. I don't know if stats back it up but he's always appeared to shrink when guys are on base.

The only ones that might want Happ are the Giants who need more offense than any other team in the majors. You can get some of their relievers for Happ but other than the Giants, dont' really see anyone interested in any Cubs busts.

Schwarber you can trade to the AL but with the DH coming to the NL in 2 years, I'm sure Theo is holding onto him for just that moment so he can say i told you so. If you do trade him to the AL, you won't be getting anyone back that's worth anything good.

What's unbelievable is a productive Almora was sat constantly during hot streaks last year for a struggling Happ. Theo and Joe again told us not to believe our eyes, but bow to them as baseball gods who know all.

I think that Minnesota is the best destination for Bryant. The AL Central is winnable, Sano is a bust, and that would wake up the fans of both franchises.
