81 games completed.

What have we learned about this team in 2019?

Examining the first half will give us some answers on how this team will play in the 2nd half.

First of all, this is a really bad road team. They haven't won a road series in some time and if they're on a road against a winning team, they're lucky to get one game. So let's say they're 1/3 on the road in a series. Not a good percentage there of .333.

At home, they were really good but now as the season is progressed, they're safe to say a .500 team at home. Not good. They've recently split against over .500 teams and under .500 teams at home. So for simplicity sake, they're a .500 team at home.

So being a .333 team on the road and a .500 team at home does not bode well for the 2nd half of 2019.

The team still struggles from dead bats like last September not just from time to time, but more often than not.

Something they're doing is broken. But they don't seem to know how to fix it.

Like the Brewers catcher said last year, when it came to play the cubs, it was so easy to prepare because they do the same thing game after game.

I think it's probably the same thing this year.

PECOTA said this team would be .500 or close to it in the spring and everyone was all up in arms about it. But the more you see this team play, I think around .500 is probably where they'll end up.

Now the division is not really good. The Brewers are not having a year like they did last year either. There are no pushovers in this division. The Reds and Pirates are just as good on any day than the Cubs/Brewers/Cards.

So whoever gets hot in Sept, will win this division. The team that can string together say 5,6,7 + games in a row in Sept in this division will be your champ. ANY TEAM! That means the Reds and Pirates too.

So not seeing much of a turn around from this Cubs team in the 2nd half. They have one more winning streak left in them I think, but so will the other teams in the division.

They may stick in the race for a while because of how the division is playing out, and maybe get the WC, but after that, not seeing them doing much in the playoffs if they make it out of the 2nd half.
