Heyward, Darvish, Morrow, Chatwood are all stuck here. I'd like to see Schwarber, Almora, Montgomery and Russell all traded.. not going to get back much but at least they're gone.

Release Descalso, awful signing.. I don't care that he's got a year left.

I normally do not believe in the make a move to make a move or wake up the team. That said if they do it they have to move a loved player. Has to be more or a Schwarber than a Russell. Moving Russell would be food for some fans but the clubhouse would shrug their shoulders. Just my 2 cents.

Brizzo needs to go. Should be able to rebuild the farm and get some young arms.

I blame Theo for this mess.

Agreed. I blame Theo waaay more than Joe.

I would see what you could get for Brizzo. This team needs pitching and lots of it.

Don't think you would get much for Russell or Monty unless they are packaged with Schwarber. And given the front office love affair with him, he's probably not going anywhere.

I don't think we'd get much for Rizzo, he's a FA after next year and slow first baseman are a dime a dozen. Bryant could rebuild the farm.. I'm all in favor of moving both.

Theo/Jed are the issue with this shit show.

They get way too attached to their shit players and trade away the studs. They don't know dick about obtaining young pitching.

Need to go ASAP:
Darvish
Quintana
Russell
Almora
Heyward
Schwarber
Descalso

All those dudes are terrible. Get them out of here.

Something definitely needs to happen.

But I predict whoever they move many will be bitching about next year

Honestly I wouldn't be completely shocked if they fire Maddon if the struggles continue. He is in his last year and there is a thought already that he won't be back next year. Probably thinking that would shake people up and get the team on a run.

They are not trading Brizzo, so you can put that out of your mind. THey are not trading Baez or Contreras. So not really sure what else could be done.

BACKSTABBER Theo has doing dirty Maddon for a year-half now. Media has been focusing on Maddon when Theo is the one buying the groceries. It's tough to make chicken salad out of chicken shit.

If it's me, and I'm not going off to run the DNC after the season, I move Bryant.

1. Because he can play four positions defensively, he can slot into almost any lineup as a #5 hitter.
2. He still has team control left but he is in arbitration
3. No way they are going to resign him as Baez and Hendricks are a higher priority. so get maximum value. They should be able to get a top 5 minor league prospect plus a couple of more pieces.

I agree. I don't think he's coming back and I'd rather pay Baez.

Why not get a huge haul from the Yankees now for Bryant rather than waiting for him to go there for nothing?

Move Q first.

Get relievers back for him. You’ll get some half decent ones.

That should keep you in the race for 2019.

They started 3-8, and have lost 26 of their last 46 games.

So for 57 games this season, the Cubs record is pretty bad.

Who are they? The team that has played below .500 for the vast majority of the season? Or the team that got hot for two/three weeks in late April and early May (with a favorable schedule)? Its a fair question to ask, and if you feel its the former, then yeah blowing it up and get assets to benefit the team for future seasons makes the most sense.

I am not happy with Q and would shed no tears about his leaving, but lets get real, they are not trading any pitchers. If they trade any current members of the team it will be position players.

If you will recall, Theo traded Nomah! to get the pieces he needed in 2004, and that team was doing about as well as this team at the time of the trade.

This team as currently constructed will not win a World Series. Being a game out of first in an underperforming division doesn't change that. And at this point of the regime, it's win it all or go home.

Big difference. Nomah was done when Theo traded him. If Cubs turn it around they need Bryant.
