im sure dempster is the front runner for the cubs network next season. He is a good ass kisser from what I hear. But not as good as ZZ, who from my inside source will be the lead PBP annoucer on the Cubs network.

Depster is harmless. I think he could "evolve" into a very good color guy, since he does know the game and has had alot of different types of experiences in the game. But I agree that there'd be times where I'd just want to mute the TV from continuing to hear some of his shtick.

Plesac is the man in 10-15 minute radio hits, and I like his work on the MLB network, but I'm not sure he'd be a great fit for 162 games, 3.5hrs at a time.

JD does a good job in my opinion.

Some people just like to bitch about any and everything.

He would be one of my top choices along with Plesac. I'm not sure how good/ bad Dempster might be, but J.D has been fairly lackluster in his time as the color guy. I don't object to trying to better the position. If Dempster is bad, try again.

I really hope not. Mac and Grote yesterday were kind of giving legs to the story that JD and/or Len might be replaced, though Grote felt that the new network would not necessarily want to make that big a change when they're trying to acquire/maintain viewers. Mac said he thought JD was boring and the Cubs might want a bigger personality, though I disagree and am a fan of JD.

Mac said Plesac should get the job, but admitted he was a close friend. No matter what, I do not want Dempster.

I think the bigger thing with JD is that part of why he was interested in moving to Chicago was that his daughter was going to school at U of I, and I presume that by now she has finished.

Also, having grown up in Upstate NY near the Canadian border, he'd be a natural choice if the Ray's move to Montreal.
