Everything has to be a crazy catch.

you omitted the word "unnecessarily"

I've said this all along that he likes to make it look difficult.

Sure he can be a little flamboyant...but he makes it to balls others can't and makes some fantastic catches. It's kinda crazy how he has been a punching bag and scapegoat since he's been here.

I have come to accept there is real truth to this. He dropped a ball last week on the warning track that he could have caught, as he was perhaps too focused on making the catch look spectacular, rather than just catching the ball. The triple a few days ago that he dropped on the warning track was really sad. After he dropped the ball, he laid out against the vines, to make it look like maybe he injured himself, when it was only his ego that was hurt. He is still by far their best CF, I have no doubt about that. But, he does have some Jim Edmunds in his game.

He's a tough guy. Joe takes credit for his success by patting himself on the back for using Almora wisely. When he gets hot, he doesn't start, only pinch hits. Almora keeps fighting back. A lot of guys Joe would have totally ruined.

I totally agree with this take. I also think that if the team trades him or the Cubs change managers after this season and Almora is given CF on a daily basis, he will be a better player.

My old APBA baseball game on the computer it always said how Harold Baines made that catch look harder than it was.

Just hot dogged his way into allowing a double to Votto. Should’ve made that catch

He is an awfully high draft pick to be this shitty of a player. I don't generally hear him called a bust but he is exactly that.

He took a great route to the ball in order to catch it. Ball was in his glove. He took a little half hop/jump. Ball popped out.

That was quite possibly worse than any of the 1,000 sliders Sosa struck out on. This asshole better be in Iowa tomorrow.
