in 2004?

Trade Patterson or have him in minors? or SPLIT TIME between Lofton and Patterson

Lofton was a huge get in 2003

and in 2004 he played 83 games hitting .275 pag and .346 OBP

Hindsight is 20/20. In retrospect, they should have left Patterson in Iowa until he stopped swinging at eye high fastballs because "that's what he's always done."

Patterson should have been much more, even if his knee injury would have forced him to move to a corner outfield spot to reduce wear and tear. But he was stubborn as hell, and you can't go through baseball life like that.

I still remember the bases loaded stroke out against someone where after the game he said "It's just a game" I think he left 7 guys on base was 0-4 3 strikeouts?

patterson had a pretty good 2003 from what i remember. so they wouldn't have given up on him in 2004.
