I don't get how arbitration works. Bryant had a really bad year last year. So I'm guessing it's based on his career stats. Cuz how is he awarded 19 million for last year? Somebody explain that to me. Cuz I think it should be awarded on what you did the prior season.

Had to use 2019 numbers per agreement with MLB before last season. Salary can be cut a maximum of 20 percent if team wants to go that route.

Ok. Sounds stupid, but they agreed to it.

Actually, Bryant should now be happy the Cubs held him in the Minors to get one extra year. Cuz it got him 19 million in a prove it year. Where he probably would have gotten less in a prove it year if he were a free agent. Cuz he probably would have only gotten a one year deal. And it would have been less then 19 million. Especially during these COVID times.

I have said that a few times. No fucking way he gets 19.5 per on open market after that season. I am sure the Cubs didn't think they would be stuck over paying in year 7 either. Bryant actually won by getting fucked in the end.
