Sure there was plenty of bad money spent but at least they did not go cheap in 2015,16,17.

In hindsight, the Cubs window was a porthole.

Theo had a chance to do this window better. He fucked up. Yeah. they made the playoffs 5 out 6 years. Or whatever it was. But he had the money to spend and he spent it badly. Then he chased good money after bad and had to trade good prospects also.

So he was bad. Yes, he won the World Series. Still, this was bad in the end because of his resources and the decisions he made.

Our Chicago media will never say this truth. They love Theo more then they love their wives.

True. They just stopped spending, ending it prematurely, and don't seem to have a plan to spend at any time in the future.

However, 2016 is all that matters. You win a title and it's all good.

And the idea that Grampa Rossy was going to be a better manager than Maddon was and still is laughable. They were throwing a feel good moment to the fans who somehow blamed the post WS failure on one guy...the manager.

Dude..Spiegs and Joe O and to an extent Rozner have all said just that. Theo mismanaged funds at the big league level, over valued his draft picks and didn’t develop a pipeline of prospects post 2016.

This has all been discussed on the 670 airwaves and Theo has acknowledged all of it as well.

Joe got a raw deal. It sounds silly to say that but it’s true in large part. I don’t think he ever regained the trust of the front office and some players from the debacle of how he managed the pitching in the WS.

That and his obsessive line up changes and moving KB around the diamond/order—right or wrong—alienated many in the organization no doubt.

Only Rozner when Theo was still around. One reason most listeners abandoned ship because of the Scores scripted fake Cubs propaganda. Even if they were greenlighted and said it after Theo left nobodies listening.

That’s simply not true but you can believe whatever you choose.
