There’s a reason Jed was prepared to execute a fire sale this year.

This team has been fun this year as a whole but they aren’t gonna make noise in the playoffs.

A bit of a 1977 vibe to this team.

After this next road trip, they have a stretch including 6 with the DBacks, 4 with the Phillies, 7 with the Reds, and 7 with the Cardinals. If they cant go 15-9 in that stretch, they have no chance of winning the Central much less winning a NLDS series against most likely the Mets.

Unfortunately, it's likely that only Bryant, Hendricks, and Petersen will have prospect value, and Bryant is iffy since he has sucked the last few weeks.

At this point I want to see Petersen, Marisnick, and Bryant in the outfield every day, and let Wisdom, Alcantara, and Sogard split the time at 3B/2B until Hoerner and Duffy get back.
