Jed Hoyer is telling everybody that what they offered all of them was very fair. They didn't take it.

Maybe it's a good thing. You want to be stuck with aging guys that suck? They got stuck with Heyward and he was young when they signed him.

Think about it. They sucked this year with all of them. And they pretty much sucked last year too. Had it not been for that 14- 5 start they wouldn't have made the playoffs last year in the stupid 60 game season. Had it been 162, they probably would have been run down as well. They didn't make it in 2019. So it's been 3 years of bad, pretty much.

Blessing in disguise that they didn't lock up these guys. A restart is the right move.

They'll suck next year. That's for sure. But maybe in 2023 they'll be able to contend for the division with their prospects and a few free agents.

They traded away a cy young level SP and fielded a rotation of lottery tickets, but you want to blame those core players for the losses?

The guys they traded didn't suck. You could win with them and good pitching.

Yeah, the Brewers can't hit a lick and they are running away with it thanks to their pitching.

The Brewers had the best average in MLB since like July 10th.

It is amazing to me the brewers are having such a good yr with yelich having such an average yr. Just shows how good their pitching has been

Um…so what is your reasoning as to why the offense broke as a collective post 2017? Especially in September and the playoffs. The lineup was shut down in critical situations time and time again, year after year.

No other “narrative” can be pushed regarding this because that is what sunk this team. The “core” failed offensively.

None of those guys were ever that good which is why the Cubs didn't get shit for them. They lucked into a down year and got their title.

Yelich has been awful, Adames has been amazing, Avi having a good year and some timely hits from others. Getting Escobar could prove very Huge.

Same with the White Sox and their injuries. Launch angle, OPS, HR...you can put whatever advanced stat you want up on the board or hell even make up a new one. It just shows that pitching is and always will be the name of the game.
