The interview with M&H was garbage...no mention of Heyward (which Haugh later chalked up to time constraints) and no answers from Hoyer on why Wrigley has the most expensive "fan experience" in MLB yet the payroll is 14th. A caller after the interview was spot on when he said they should have asked Hoyer why the Cardinals don't need to "bottom out," and the Yankees, Dodgers, Giants, and even Rays don't need to bottom out. Instead, we are fed this bullshit about needing to go through years of pain before they will spend again. Haugh gave some lame defense of Hoyer (and Epstein), saying the "stars" stopped performing. Well yeah, we all saw that -- it was their job to know it sooner than we did and launch or trade their asses when they still had value. Telling fans we need to go through these feast and famine cycles is just ridiculous.
