Cubs are 2nd MLB in "outs on bases". Also T2nd at home. White Sox are 5th & T3rd.

I like how he let Newcomb face Pujols.

And got Pujols to ground out.

Sweeney won the bet tonight.

Over 0.5 runs scored in the 8th, sure enough, the Cards scored 3.

David Ross on Cardinals' Jordan Montgomery extending his scoreless innings streak to 22 against the Cubs.

"We got him out of some trouble...We made him work"

Getting Montgomery is the trade of the century

Did the Cubs get bamboozled again this time with Seiya Suzuki? He's ok. Nothing spectacular. My suspicions were right that he doesn't get a great jump (bottom 4% MLB) on the ball. Where's the great GGD? O slashline is better than league average. Not by much. He's got to have a huge year next year. Right now Kosuke Fukudome very similar numbers.

Of course. He's another Fukudome. Most of these jap players are worthless when they come here. Other than Ichiro.

The Cubs played it up as usual but it was another dumb signing.

Cards have a lot of firepower.

Cubs went up 3-0, Cards roared back in the bottom of the first with 2.

Goldschmidt and Arenado are a powerful duo.

Some classic Boog using stats to defend modern MLB. He said something like "it's hard to hit now". He said obp is its lowest in quite a few years. True. But, 6 of the last 9 years obp are slightly higher in reach of this years .312. Same with other slashline offensive components. Then he's comparing this years numbers with 30 games (19%) left to final years numbers. And this years offensive numbers have been trending up all year.

Rare Sunday day game. Usually they put this game on Sunday Night baseball.

Anyway, rain delay now. Stay tuned! They WILL play this game!

Haha. Ross goes to the mound how to pitch to Pujols. 1B open, man on 2nd, 0-0, B8th. Two pitches later hits it over the fence. TLR would be crucified on the Score where Ross will be praised tomorrow.

Ian Happ made 3 great defensive leaping or diving catches in this series. This guy has become a COMPLETE ballplayer. And nobody gives a shit.

Dont forget, he can play 2B too.

a 5-tool player.

Odd that the Cubs are off on Labor Day.
