pizza_Place: Suparosa on Central between Irving and Montrose. Forget about the rest!!!
The mens' rooms between home and 3rd and down the left field line were brutal today. Not only the lines to get in, but once you were in the smoke was absolutely brutal. They no longer have the area outside the park to smoke anymore, didnt they think that the washrooms would be were everyone would go smoke? I hope they end up sending security in there once in a while to check things out. I cannot imagine someone with a child going in there to use those washrooms.

As I have said many times before, tear that dump on Clark and Addison down and give us Cub fans a ballpark to be proud of. What a dump, if you disagree and think that place should still be around then you are pretty damn dumb. Give me the park on the south side anytime over that dump on the north side.

Yes yuppie who only goes to get drunk and by the 7th doesn't know which team is the Cubs.

Since you're a clear Sox fan why were you at Cubs opening day?

If you didn't drink 200 beers at the game you wouldn't need the mens room so much.

If I was so obsessed with the washrooms I'd stay home and watch it on TV where my washroom is always clean.

What the hell is going on around here? Did I miss something when I fell asleep on the couch (after I drank all that beer)? This can't be real......

Parking? Take the EL. For all the beer you drink you shouldn't be driving anyway.

Bathrooms? Am I the only one who goes to games to see baseball not to use the bathroom but to see the game? If I was obsessed with bathrooms I'd stay home and use my own.

And as far as the falling concrete that was 4 years ago and used by Mayor Daley to take atttention away from a new scandal.

The second incident was faked. When you're going to fake something like that Indiana guy did don't use concrete clearly only a few months old.

Maybe if I went to Wrigley to drink instead of going to see baseball I'd be more obsessed with bathrooms.

I sometimes have to go and when I do I go, go in, do my business, wash my hands and leave. I don't spend time looking around and enjoying the ambiance of the thing.

when I go on Saturday I'll take a real close look and write out a full report on the ladies rooms. I never really noticed to tell you the truth but since I don't drink 20 beers a game I don't have to go more than once if at all.

do you know how much of a pain in the ass it is to take the L from the suburbs?

thae bathrooms are extremly uncomfortable.

and if you knew this just because concrete fell 4 years ago doesnt mean it will never fall again. it doesnt last forever, unfortianetly for you, the cubs winning drought will

The comment on the winning drought showed your a Sox fan.

You go to games to drink. I go to watch baseball.

As far as the suburbs/el thing how about driving to a neaby train taking the train in and taking the El?

I drive out to Cumberland L and take the blue line to the 3600 W Addison stop and take the bus from there. If I can manage it you can.

I'm sick of people whining about food, drink and bathrooms.

And didn't they find some structural problems with the Cell a week later or something like that?

Thank you for admitting I am right by telling me to shut up.

Well, let's not judge people Steph. You told us the story about how you past out drunk at a 1984 playoff game. Don't give us a speech. Most of us can handle are booze better than that. Just cuz you quit doesn't mean it's wrong to drink. Don't look down on people that like it.

In that case - may you never, ever stop talking. You are consistently demonstrating your genius for the game of baseball......

well thats incoreect because i am not even old enough to buy alochal at games, and have no inentions on ever drinking. to adress my being a whitesox fan. i was simply agreeing with bud about wrigley not being the sacntuary everone thinks it is. i can still have an opinion about wrigley even though i prefer comisky.

i can walk to a metra and take it to ogilvie, but then have to walk a few miles to the red line...

it's a pain in the ass. i'm a cubs fan, and i love wrigley field--but just because you criticize doesn't automatically make you a sox fan.

i rip the cubs all the time because i'm a passionate fan, and i am sick of seeing futility in this ball club, and like today...perfect example of the cubs. PERFECT example. heartbreakers...like bigfan says...it's a tough life.

I'm a Sox fan too Steph. Indifferent towards the Cubs. Don't care if they win or lose. I do follow them however.

Bear when did I tell a story? I was 16 at the time I wasnt drinking.

I never understand why Sox fans like Spanky are so obsessed with the Cubs. I think you have enough problems to worry about.

Typical 20 something fans who go to games and get so drunk if you get off work and see they are coming from the game they don't even know the Score and sometimes don't know who won!

Bear and your making some good points. I belong to a baseball group where fans of both teams posts and sometimes the Sox fans offer better insight into the Cubs and vice versa because we're not as invested in the other team.

Bear I think that you also base your judgements on thinking. Some Sox fans base everything on what they hear on the Score.

I have to admit the best tshirt I've seen in ages says "I'm a Drinking Fan with a ______ Problem" and they sold different ones with the different teams filled in in that slot or Chicago Sports.

I bought the Chicago Sports one since I have a Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks and Northwestern problem.

I got it. I was listening to the David Stein over night show a couple weeks ago. I was half a sleep. He's the Oprah of sports talk. Some women called his show and said that was the turning point in her life. She passed out at the 84 Cubs playoff game. Had to be carried out in a stretcher and get her stomach pumped. She's been sober since.

Um, no. Again, if telling you to stop makes you feel smart - then please continue.

A little advice though, if the proof on the side of the bottle gets into triple digits, put it down. Quickly.

Spanky you said the Cubs will continue their winning drought just like a typical Sox fan.

Maybe you aren't but you surely seem to be from what you've said today.

As an avid Cubs fan, a partial season ticket holder, who drives in from the western burbs & parks wherever I can for about 15 to 20 games a year...

I would welcome a new stadium too. Why should I have to miss am inning and a half to take a leak & get some crappy food from the concession stand? I do it...that does not mean I have to like it.

I have been to so many stadiums (football & baseball) and Wrigley is by the far the worst for fan convenience.

That said...I am a CUBS FAN....and Wrigley Field is a great place to watch a game...but ONLY when you are actually in your seat. The rest of the experience...NOT SO HOT. Bathrooms suck big-time!

Seeing the entertaiment value in here after just ONE Cubs game, I know I'm in for one hilarious summer reading this forum.

I'm a Cubs fan, and I love Wrigley Field. However, the place is really run down and needs a major overhaul.

I was at the park twice last year on non-game days, and when it's empty and you're not distracted by 40,000 fans you can really see that it's falling apart.

I think they should tear it down and rebuild on a similar scale. Keep the ivy and the brick walls, and the "close to field" seating, but modernize the concessions and bathroom facilities. Give the team a decent sized clubhouse, and relocate the bullpen so the relievers aren't in danger when they start to warm up. Relocate the visitor's clubhouse so they don't have to walk 1/2 mile (uphill!) to take a leak between innings.

Regarding parking, why not put in an underground parking structure where the Grace Street (Green Lot) is located? If they can't go underground for some reason, then why not build up? That lot is HUGE and they could accommodate a lot of fans by adding a few levels.

another cubs fan here, and after watching a game up at miller park a couple years ago, and going to a couple games at the cell, i agree that something needs to be done with wrigley field. i love the feel of the park, the ivy, the scoreboard, the rooftops, all of that. all that should stay. the rest of it needs to go knock it down, rebuild a grandstand with some modern amenities.

the parking thing is a big pain in the ass, and taking the train to the el and hoofing it here and there is not convenient. there just isnt any alternative at the current location, and i can live with that if the rebuild there, but if talk started seriously about rebuilding a new park elsewhere, i wouldnt call it the end of the world. there is a reason teams still dont play at forbes field, and the polo grounds, and old comiskey, and countless other parks. they were old, outdated, and falling apart. this problem needs to be addressed, one way or the other.
