You guys watch it? 60 years of the Cubs on WGN.

It was well done. Seems like there is one of these Cubs specials, produced by some network, talking about 100 years of misery and hope every year.

Still, nice job by WGN putting this together.

Very well done and brought back a lot of memories for me. I hope they put it out on DVD. I will purchase it for sure.
They now have a 60 year history of WGN TV on hosted by Jim Belushi. I hope Bernsie is watching and having a fit as we speak.

I DVR'd and watched it...loved every minute of it!

When they showed the old clips of Harry Caray it made me kind of sad...you don't realize how bad he was at the end until you hear the earlier (read: coherent) clips...

Also loved the footage of the players playing slip'n'slide on the tarp during the rained out first night game...

It was a very good special. I thought it was great that they showed stuff from the 80's with Ryno and Dawson. Good times...

It was cool seeing shots from the 70s and 80s when the bleachers were pretty much a sausage-fest. I was most amused by the mailman jumping around outside after getting the home-run ball.

I got to see some of it. Does anyone know if WGN is going to replay it? I couldn't tell from their website. What I saw was really good.

It was great to see the Cubs back to back over .500 seasons highlighted...oh wait, that didn't happen.

Shit. I had a bet with myself that Frank would be the first to take an easy cheap shot in this thread. Now I owe myself $50.

I thought the Cubs Forever special was very well done. I especially liked the clips of the late Harry Caray. He'll always be known for his running gag with Steve Stone about Steve smoking cigars in the booth.

But the funniest moments were during the Cubs celebration of winning the pennant, and Harry made good on a bet he'd made with Steve. He would smoke one of his cigars if Steve would drink a can of Budweiser.

Harry takes a few hits from a cigar on live TV during the Cubs clubhouse celebration and Steve quipped, "I think I got the better end of the deal!" To that, Harry handed Steve the cigar and he grabbed the can of Bud.

Classic.

I just wish my dad would've been here to see this.
Is this coming out on DVD.
I'll add it to my White Sox 2005 and This Old Cub DVDs.
