A day late and a dollar short I know, but, the question is "why was Eric Patterson sent packing to AAA again?" Although he was 0-6, is Murton that much better?

At the time it was done, it was because the Cubs were going to face a lot of upcoming left handed pitching. That said, I do not remember seeing Murton hit a ball out of the infield since he has been up here. He has a couple of infield hits...but he certainly isn't driving the ball.

I heard that since going back to Iowa, Patterson has gotten hurt and is now on the DL, so it's a non-issue. But it did make sense to bring Murton up, when they were set to face Washington, who was starting 3 Lefty's in a row. It was curious though, that Murton never got a start in any of the 3 games.
