As a baseball fan I'm looking forward to this series.

You have the two best offenses in baseball. Two of the hottest teams in baseball. With the two hottest players in baseball going as well (Soriano and Berkman).

Sox are off so tonights game will get my full attention.

A Sox fan starting a Cub discussion. That's bad ju-ju man.
The Cub is gonna get swept. That's really what you want isn't it?

This is the Monday ESPN game. ESPN will air it in Chicago too.

For some reason, I never have a good feeling when the Cubs face the Astros, especially in Houston. I'd be thrilled with the Cubs taking two of three; although I'm not too confident with Gallagher pitching on Wednesday.

Lillys been good lately. I have 50 cents riding on the Cubs right now on centsports.com so I have a pretty vested interest in the game also.

Rarely is there a situation when that isn't the case.

Lou cracks me up when he argues with the umps. He hobbles out there with that big belly, bad knees and bad hips.

That's why he doesn't argue so much any more. It hurts him now in his advanced age.

ramirez would have had a sliding double on a similarly hit ball to soto's inside-the-park homer.

Anybody else watching the national feed on ESPN? I can listen to Orel talk about pitching all day long. Incredibly insightful listening to him talk about the different grips for different pitches.

Ah but then you missed this gem from Casper when talking about Hunter Pence. "If Hunter had a sister and she got married would she be an ex Pence"

Of course, I also have to tolerate Steve Phillips saying that they were walking Soriano to put the double play in order, even though there were two outs.

These announcers on ESPN suck. Mistakes, mistakes and more mistakes. Someone walks and Phillips says this lines them up for a double play, except there two outs allready. Ted Lilly according to Miller came to the cubs from the dogers and so on. I am sure I am just being picky, but put some effort into to it.

From what I have heard of him on ESPN there is a reason that he doesnt have a MLB job anymore.

phillips is insufferable though.

Incredible catch by Edmonds, but his prick status was only slightly reduced.

Lester of the Red Sox has a no hitter through 8 innings.

ESPN is gonna take us there for his 9th inning.

I wonder if the Tiny one will be on Edmonds tomorrow for showboating?

Marmol won't have an arm by August at this rate... but J H C what a show he put on in the 8th. Their biggest hitters do nothing. Tejada, Berkman and Lee don't drive home a run with runners at the corners and no outs.

Wuertz, you watching that?

DAMN!!

Marmol has stranded 40 of 46 runners since the beginning of last season. That is unreal.

THAT is why making wood closer was the right thing to do. marmol has an amazing knack for getting out of others peoples messes.

Marmol will be fine - he's a former starter who's never pitched less than 100 innings in a year.
