Only 3 teams in MLB have not made the World Series. I figured this, just now, in my head. I have a recall of all World Series a little bit before my birth. I'm weird. Had to cap it at 1979 cuz that's when the Pirates last made it. The Brewers (1982) and Orioles (1983) were in front of the Pirates of the last teams, of the 27, to go in this span. That '83 Orioles team beat my White Sox.

So in 30 years, 27 of the 30 MLB teams have made the World Series. Only teams that haven't...

Mariners

Rangers

Mariners and Rangers are the only teams in MLB never to make the World Series.

Keep in mind, in 1993, the Marlins and Rockies joined MLB. In 1998 the Rays and D-Backs joined MLB. They have all made the World Series.

When did the Expos/Nationals make the World Series?

Good catch. Forgot about them. I was just running all the MLB teams through my memory. Expos probably would have made it had it not been for the strike in 1994. So 4 teams have not made the World Series since 1979.
