Apparently the Cubs have interest. I can honestly say I hope they stay away from this guy. Terrible defense.....strikes out too much. Too content to take a walk in a big spot instead of swinging the stick. No thanks.

Apparently, the Dodgers aren't going to sit around all winter, waiting for Manny Ramirez to beg to come back. They now have Adam Dunn on their shopping list.

The Dodgers contacted Dunn's agent, Greg Genske, over the holidays, according to an executive of a team interested in Dunn. And that creates an intriguing option for both parties.

Dunn has also drawn interest from the Cubs, Nationals, Mariners and Orioles. But adding the Dodgers to that mix gives him another contender to consider. The Cubs had believed to be his top choice before the Dodgers entered the mix.

if they had a good defensive outfield already then Dunn is a good add. Since Fuk is likely in center next year, no thanks.

I would rather have Bradley than Dunn. But Dunn is better than trading for Tehan IMO.

offensively, dunn is exactly what the cubs need between the 3rd and 5th hitters. strikeouts, yes, but at the same time patience. he swings through a lot of pitches, but he doesnt swing at a lot of shit int he dirt. whomever bats in front of him will get some good pitches to hit.

defensively, oh, no.

they need a career .247 hitter? i know he hits home runs but...that's about all he does.

yes, they need a left-handed thumper in the middle of the lineup to break up the righties. yes, his average is low, but he is an intimidating force at the plate who the opposition needs to fear. his presence would force teams to pitch matchups, which they dont have to do now. if you look strictly at the lineup, it would be much stronger with him batting 4th than it is now. yes, the defense is terrible, which is why i am not sure it is a good idea, but from a lineup standpoint he would be a big boost. he is not the greatest power hitter ever, or the best in the league, or great, but he is a potent left-handed power hitting threat that they desperately need.
