Monday: 8:40 p.m., CSN+, 666
LH Ted Lilly (2-1, 2.41) vs. RH Dan Haren (1-3, 1.38)

Tuesday: 8:40 p.m., WGN
RH Carlos Zambrano (1-1, 4.85) vs. RH Yusmeiro Petit (0-1, 6.00)

Wednesday: 2:40 p.m., CSN 665
RH Ryan Dempster (1-0, 4.88) vs. LH Doug Davis (1-3, 3.67)

At least the Cubs aren't going into this one on a 5 game skid. That last game in St. Louis was a nice breakout offensive game, but the Cubs are showing signs of injury early. Marmol isn't available Monday but should be ready by Tuesday. No word yet on Lee, and Ramirez and Bradley are considered unavailable Monday and Tuesday.

Haren's ERA is Gibsonesque. May his lack of support continue as that will be the only shot we have tonight. Lilly has been good, but a sub 1.5 era? Good grief.

Arizona has some good pitchers. this series should be a lower scoring one, than the previous series with the Cardinals. Gotta hope they can play some small ball and get timely hits, with guys like Ramirez and Bradley out. Hopefully, Hoffpauir can give them some production from the 1st base position. Fontenot has to get back on track as well as Soto.

Doug Davis has really been tough on the Cubs in the past, both in Arizona in the playoffs in 2007 and when he was in Milwaukee. He doesn't throw all that hard, but he hits his spots and changes speed well. Haren is a legit #1 starter with nasty stuff. Lilly had better be on his game and not throwing Chris Young fastballs that leave the yard into the LF stands ( resulting in Lilly's glove being thrown to the ground, in frustration). The Cub's will have their work cut out for them. On the other hand, Arizona has to face Lilly, Zambrano and Dempster. They will have their work cut out for them too.

I would like to see Zambrano step up and pitch a truly dominate outing here already. Arizona's offense is soft and they just put Stephen Drew on the DL. I honestly have no idea how this will shake out . The Cubs should probably win the series but I bet they will go 1 out of 3.

:P

I gotta admit though, I didn't know Danks' era was that good. Damned impressive!

Oh, and Jason? A coach once had something for you types who dwell (or self stimulate) on the past. Which one are you?

I wouldn't go ga-ga over someone's ERA through 4 games of the season.

Yeah, it's early and I was overly effusive with the Gibson comparison, but it's still a damned good era for both Haren and Danks.

This road trip has been horrible. They have only hit in one game so far. The more I think about the DeRosa trade, the more it pisses me off. Fontenot was overrated and Miles is just horrible.

Christ, so far, the Cub are nothing but a big fucking bag of suck.
What kind of manager gives something two games before he pulls the plug on it? A senile, drunken old fuck, that's who.

What I can't understand is that if Bradley is not going to be playing (other than a pinch hit appearence), why the fuck doesn't he just take that suspension and get it over with?

The Cubs do not look very good. Not good at all. Its early still, but not much promising overall from the Northsiders.

My last 2 posts in this forum was the one you quoted above, and one about Bradley taking his quick 2 game suspension if he isn't 100% and won't play anyway.

Am I wrong on either front? Not in the least.
