Ok,enough is enough. What is holding this shit up. Last I heard, the Ricketts did not like
the broadcasting rights fee's. It's time to either shit or get off the pot!!!
Is Selig sleeping through this stuff? MLB needs a commisoner with integrity, someone
who is untouched by the steroid controversy. A REAL Commisioner would have been more involved with this sale. It's been ongoing for how long now?

It's believed the Cubs' broadcast rights with WGN Radio & TV are holding up the rumored sale of the team, plus this seems like a broken record, but we're still in a recession...The scoop is that the Ricketts family is having trouble raising the cash to buy the Cubs, Wrigley Field & the team's 25% stake in Comcast SportsNet. Former Cubs' and current White Sox TV analyst Steve Stone is confident that the Ricketts family will still get the deal done...eventually. Unfortunately, as much as I would like to see a "Commissioner" of Major League Baseball who would show the MLB Players' Association who's boss and would truly look into the "best interests of the game", it's not going to happen anytime soon. :( I also think the owners recently signed Bud Selig to an extension within the last year or two to continue as "Commissioner".

Bud Selig is too spineless to get in the middle of this fiasco.

Whether he likes it or not, OMR, Allan H. and his fellow MLB owners eventually will have to approve or disapprove the Cubs' sale, whenever it happens.

But Selig won't help push this sale along. It's gonna be up to Zell.

Speaking of Sam Zell, you think he's in any hurry to sell this team?

Sammy is going to get as much money for the Cubs as he possibly can. If Tom Ricketts won't strike a deal, Zell will find someone that will meet his price.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if this took the entire season or possibly through the off-season to finalize this deal. I still don't buy the reports that a deal is weeks away.

OMR, considering the fact this economy is still in a recession overall, this deal doesn't appear to be any closer to being done than before...Besides, because of the economy, the asking price for the Cubs, Wrigley Field, WGN Radio & TV, and the 25% stake in Comcast SportsNet continues to go down if the Ricketts family can't raise enough money...

Great points SHARK. Just think, Sam Zell wanted to have the sale of the Cubs completed by spring 2007.
