If this is posted already, my apologies.

According to Rototimes, Dempster has been DL'd with a possibly broken big toe.

Just can't keep this team at full strength.

Hmmm.....now who takes his place in the rotation? Hart? Smardz? Marshall? Some Randy Wellsesque mystery pitcher?

Zambrano is moving up to pitch tonight, Hart is scheduled to start tomorrow. I don't see Hart being a long term answer and I hope they are smart enough to keep Marshall in the pen.

I'm wondering if this lingers for long - I have no idea what the healing time is - if this gives more creedence to signing Pedro?

Well if Harden needs a trip to the DL too then we are going to get real thin in the rotation real fast. I wonder if its the big toe on his plant foot.

Hendry needs to make a deal for a lefty in the bullpen, or trade for a starter. The only good options to me are Marshall or a trade. Dempster should be fined for jumping the fence and breaking his toe like a dumb fuck.

Wow what a klutz the Cubs even find a way to hurt themselves when they win. And now he is out for a month. I dont know if Hart is a long term answer as the starter. And now Big Z has to go on 3 days rest. Might have to give Smardzija a chance I think he has the best upside out of anyone we have left. Or we have to trade for a lefty in the pen like schmitty said cause Marshall will have to start. I think I heard Cotts is on the DL in Iowa so at least we wont have to see him up here again.

Cotts just had TommyJohn surgery, so we won't ever see him again.

Marshall did a good job as a starter and deserves a chance to go back into the rotation. The move that would make the most sense, would be to trade for a left handed relief pitcher. Those are not real easy to aquire, but that would seem to be the right move.

I always cringe a little when after a victory the Cub outfielders do their little celebration where they jump into each other.

A guy like Bradley, who hurt his knee a few years ago being pulled away from arguing with an umpire, probably should be carefull. Knowing Cub luck he will get on a hot streak then wreck his knee doing that post game celebration.

Except that the Cards, Brewers, and Cubs are better than the Reds.

I don't know frank, after the Reds have Willy "Son of Man" Taveras. He will steal 100 bases and save the reds from 4th place. I mean, he's only got 16 now, but shit man, that's probably the Fans fault for not buying more tickets. I mean with better attendance, this leadoff hitter would be getting on base better than .287.

Yep, just as I said. Cards, Brewers, and Cubs are ahead of the Reds. There's your back up, Panera.

Well, how else would you measure who is better? Thats the way its done to determine who gets into the playoffs, so thats the method I will use too.

Look, there is nothing wrong with being a fan. But if you seriously think the '09 Reds are legit contenders for the NL Central crown and/or the Wild Card, you're dilusional.
