So now that the cubs have no one buying them and they are thinking of claiming bankruptcy why can't Cuban get back into the mix. The man has the money to do this. He isn't going to be any more of a loudmouth douche than the steinbrenners. He is committed to winning and treating players right. He would probably pay for a massive clubhouse upgrade as his facilities in Dallas are supposed to be stellar so ozzie would be happy for 3 days each year. Cubs fans could be enjoying trade deadline talk in a push for the post season instead of wondering if sam fuld and jake fox will be the ones to rescue the team. I don't get it.

Because "Commissioner Clueless" Allan H. Selig and his fellow MLB owners won't let Mark Cuban bid, that's why!

Cuban even posted on his blog that he was no longer interested in the team. I'd provide a link but my work considers that a 'Social/Networking' site and it's not allowed. Probably a combo of the headache of renovating Wrigley/the owners would C block the shit out of him/the Cubs being a billion dollars basically.

It's Reinsdorf who doesn't want Cuban in more than anyone. Reinsdorf if double oppossed to Cuban and Reinsdorf has very close ties with these teams at a minimum, who would vote Cuban out just if Jerry asked and with a few other reasons he could present a compelling financial reason . But pretty sure Cuban needs 75% of the owners votes he would never get

That's all the senior circuit needs, more new money in ownership. Mark Cuban isn't fit to helm a haberdashery, much less a ball-club.

MArk Cuban is all about Mark Cuban not about the team.

I love how we hear about how great of an owner he is. How he is a winner. I checked the list of NBA champions in the last many many years. No Mavericks.

He won't let the baseball people run the baseball end of the team.

An example of what he'd do is this.

The Cubs are set at 3rd base but need a shortstop. The big name free agent is a 3rd baseman but anyone with an IQ above 12 knows they should keep the 3rd baseman they have and get this lesser name SS who is a very good player but not flashy.

He'd go get the third baseman and slightly improve that position and leave a gaping hole at SS. Just because it would make a splash not what's best for the team.

Also he is of questional character.

Mark Cuban has been out of the Cubs picture for months....

He also made a statement saying that if he owned the Cubs, the only teams he had to compete with financially were in the N.L. Central.

He stated he would not be competing with the Yankees, Mets and Red Sox for free agents.

He sure sounds a tad smarter than the current ownership which has pissed away millions of dollars on clowns like Fukudome, Uncle Miltie and Phonsie.

Screaming about refs makes one's character questionable?

That's not 100 percent accurate it was dismissed but the SEC has more time to get their butts in order.

The one thing that has always worried me about an individual owner is what if he does something really bad with the SEC. Asset frozen and such could really be a problem.

Also what if an owner fell for a Maddof type scam?

WTF are you talking about , They want to put the Cubs into bankruptcy. They can sell off individual parts of the team(ie players) . They should have let Cuban buy the team. I can not see how any judge will let them claim the Cubs are not fiscally viable and losing money. This is totalB.S. going around this sale. From the Trib people to Ricetts, they all need a boot to the head.
