I would not be surprised to see the cubs acquire him. The marlins want to dump him anyways with coughlan there. He really won't do much for the average but he does have some good pop which should translate well. I like this as an under the radar move that probably wont cost much more than some average prospects. The only team the cubs trade with more often is the pirates so I can see it happening. Again, he isn't great, but when compared to what the cubs have at 2nd he looks good.

ok, so there is a 2nd baseman whom the cubs could probably get for not all that much. He hits for power, his average is not great but he drives in runs. Now you have Fontenot off the bench.

He strikes out alot and his avg sucks but he does hit for good power and brings in runs and is a major upgrade from what the Cubs have now at 2nd. How fat is his contract and what would the Marlins want for him though? I don't think they'd let him go for as cheap as you may think

Keep him. I hate the strikeouts and his range at 2nd is not real good. his average is horrible and he doesn't walk that much either. I wouldn't be surprised if Florida did want to dump the salary, if they have a young guy with better range and a better ability to make contact with the ball, ready to go.

Uggla gave the American League home field advantage in the World Series last year.

Uggla looks enhanced too me. Not to mention he has that Clutch Cargo mouth goin' on.
Like someone already said, we have Uggla and his name is Soriano.

Oh, if only we could put Soriano at second base. Does anyone remember years ago when the Cubs were trying to deal Sosa to the Yankees for Soriano?

We need more second basemen.
