Does anyone have a count on how many "No-trade" or long term contracts the Cubs are saddled with?
I would like to see everyones contract expiration. The Ricketts HAVE to unload this dead wood one way or the other. Jim Hendry has paid the devil his due & brought the Cubs to the playoffs and "oh,so close" to a pennant. Now the team is hurting because of the 3 OF's and the "no talent" bullpen. Lou also has been very slow to pull the trigger on slumping veterans.
It worked for DLEE,not so much for Soriano & Bradley.

Woah, a Jim Hendry had a really bad offseason thread.

Hopefully this one doesn't go the same direction has the 8338493 we had before it...

Reading is a skill.

Why the fuck do you feel to make another Jim Hendry thread instead of commenting on the plethora (a lot) of other threads about the same thing?

Your punishment is also the world's benefit; you'll be locked in a room with Elmhurt Steve for a period of no less than 3 years.

Maybe Steve Stone can tell us about how much money is left on the deals? He hasn't broached that topic in about 2 weeks, because we could never figure it the total on our own. Or my favorite Steve Stone, "The Cubs play 37 games v teams without a .500 record" Another indepth stat that would be really hard to compute.

Maybe you can tell us exactly what this new axe you have to grind with Stone has to do with Hendry's bad moves?

Zambrano
Soriano
Ramirez
Lee
Lilly
Fukudome
Samardzija (that one I really can't figure out)

Hendry didn't have to give one to Dempster because he earned his 5/10 no trade rights.

He's been with the Cubs 5 years already?

Hello 90 losses in 2010.

Obviously this is not where we wanted to be. We still believe we can put together a run, though. There is still time. I believe these guys, when healthy can really hit the ball well and play good defense enough to win. Obviously Kevin Gregg was not working out, and I think I trust Lou enough to know what to do. He was chosen as a closer, and he's done his best. But it's probably best for him and his family that he doesn't think too much about being demoted. It's a head game a lot of the time, obviously, with a closer. Obviously we have to get back into the play off race and that will have to include wins. According to my scouts, who have simulated the rest of the season based on a carefully scientific study using a unique operating system, we have at least one ten game win streak in us left. So I would think that may happen sometime between labor day and the end of September. Obviously it may not happen in August, because this month is over and we don't know that we can win every game going forward.

It's on me that we aren't where we are, obviously, but we are trying to put the best team out there. Milton Bradley is a solid signing, I'm not apologizing for that. He still has a streak in him, and I still believe obviously it will happen toward the end of the season, when it will come together for us. Obviously it's not just about winning the division, but winning the World Series, too, and we keep that in mind.

Thanks for messaging us Jim. I do have a question for you, when you are on the road with the team, do you prefer young asian boys or young korean boys after a Cubs win. I'll hang up and wait for your answer.
