Since that disaster of a road trip to the west coast in August, I haven't subjected myself to watching a whole lot of Cubs baseball.... trying to keep what little of my sanity that I have left.

But I still catch games here and there and lately I have noticed that Jake Fox hasn't been playing much but Bobby Scales has. So I checked ESPN and found out that Fox has had only 5 AB in the last 7 days while Bobby Scales has had 14 AB in the same time period.

Scales is a nice story, but with Soriano out, don't you have to play Fox more, just to see what you have and not a 32 year old career minor leaguer. Maybe the Cubs think that Fox's trade value will never be higher and the more they play him, the more he will be exposed.

I don't think Fox's trade value is all that high to begin with, so I am somewhat surprised that the Cubs, specifically Piniella, don't trot Fox out there more often. Isn't this the best time to see what you have in Fox, and since your playing teams who are mostly crap in September, Pirates, Brewers, Reds....maybe he can feast off bad pitching and maybe raise his value.

I am thinking the Lou has a personality issue with Fox, it seems that that is the only possible explanation.

He played last night, and threw a guy out at second from LF. He should be playing every day so he can be traded to the A.L in the offseason.
