But let me lay this out.

Cubs need a closer in 2010.

Cleveland is going young and wants to get rid of at least some of a certain contract.

In his heart of hearts Hendry never wanted to get rid of Wood.

Let me be the first to say it would be a surprise but not a shock to see Kerry Wood back on the Cubs next year.

It would surprise me if Hendry is back with the team. He fucked up with many signings and departing players(Derosa).

That being said if he is back than Hendry has a hard time sucking up his pride and addmitting he made a mistake(i.e. Derosa)


With all that said, I dont want wood back, as he is too ouchy

If anything, Carlos Marmol is the Cubs closer next year. I don't think the Cubs are going to spend significant money for a closer. So they'll give it to Marmol.

Here is my crazy thought of the day. Since the Cubs are looking for a leadoff hitter. Trade Carlos Zambrano to the Mets for Jose Reyes. Omar Minaya seems crazy enough to do it.

No Reyes. He's a pussy, and you should be able to get more for Big Z than him.

No Kerry Wood either.

Can you explain how Reyes is a pussy? I haven't followed the Mets much this year.

He's played in only 36 games this year with because of a calf strain that many people believe he should have been able to play through/not miss 100 games. Either he's a pussy, or he's milking it, getting paid to do nothing. Either way, I don't want him.
