The Cubicketts Organization has been pretty silent since closing this Cubs deal? The Grabow deal, traded Heiliman and announced an ice skating rink seems to be about all that has been done? Sounded like they had some bigger plans when they took over?

They do. I just don't remember them saying it would be done by 11/21/09.

Ever hear of the 'Winter Meetings"?
Have you figured the date when arbitration eligible players have to be offered before they become free agents if they are not?

Here is a little nugget I hadn't heard until today....

Cubs block casino ad

The Cubs have fired the opening salvo in a dispute against a local casino, erecting two signboards in the back of the left-field bleachers, which would obscure a prominent casino ad in most television shots during game telecasts. The two large green wooden signboards were erected in the bleachers last week without fanfare. There currently is no advertising on them, but they're expected to be ready for the 2010 season.

Free Agency has barely even started. Hot stove will heat up soon.

huh? How can a casino have access to the bleachers in the first place?

Sounds more like they are trying to block an ad from outside the stadium in left field somewhere.

A few months ago I went on the Wrigley Field tour and the tour guide said that building was either being knocked down and rebuilt with bleachers on top, or undergoing a major renovation.

I would assume the owner of that building hasn't been paying the Cubs a portion of the revenue they generate from Horseshoe like the Rooftop Partners have been. Hence the new sign the Cubs put up.

The building has been for sale for $8 million. And no way they are getting a building up in time for next season by now even if it sold.

Regardless, I would like the GET RID OF MILTON sign in LF ASAP!

the more time passes the more "I don't think that guy was that bad" or the 'I think he can help" way of thought starts to creep back into conversations.

This needs to be taken care of FIRST! Then we can all go to Home Depot together and pick up some 2x4's, some CDX 3/4" and conduit to build our new lemonade stand,

Camps, are you going to take a shot at NSJ everytime the opportunity presents itself? Just curious, not to say it's right or wrong cause it's between you two,but I'm sure you speaking of him just provides himself with more laughter.

Understood as I am sure many people on here feel the same way. Just thought you were/are better than that IMO.

Back in the day, walked one of the buildings with my Mom. It was for sale for $385K 3 3 BR Units, 1 bath each.

We get up to the rooftop and my mom says "What are you going to do? sit up here and watch Cub games all day??"

I was in College at he time , so I actually wanted to build some simple bleachers up there, charge $20 and make some extra cash.

Whoops

Another great thing was that the Bears were playing at Wrigley then, too. Right? :P

Everyone is quiet right now. In fact, the Cubs have been more active than just about everyone else so far.

I've found out that flushing toilet on "impact" reduces the smell dramatically...
