"Those tantalizers are really tempting!"

Is this a rolling thread for the season?

Oh well. Hopefully it makes you laugh. That's what Ron's there for. Pat gives you more than enough information to go along with painting the verbal picture. Ed Farmer and Steve Stone may have been "the grad school professors of baseball" or however Boers and Bernstein gushed over them, but I just found that pairing bitter, mean, dull, unpleasant. Baseball is a sport, sports are entertainment, malaprops are entertaining.

"Our depth is really deep" wasn't uttered by Ron Santo - Tom Ricketts said it.

Yep!

And it was actually Pat who uttered the "tantalizers" line....

Well then! I just assume all dumb utterances are Ron's. He was fairly lucid on Sunday, come to think of it. I think his awareness generally deteriorates. He tries to give some decent analysis for a while until he burns out.

And a turtle on his back tries to get right side up.

Its a shame one of the best in the biz has to work alongside Santo.

I'm ready to move on from Santo, but Dave Otto isn't the answer. It has to be another rambling idiot, like Grace or Sutcliffe. Rambling idiocy is the soundtrack of my summers. That and Tom Petty's Greatest Hits.

Santo makes the broadcast nearly unlistenable at times. It's a shame too, because a team with so many day games is going to rely on a lot of car/work radio listeners.
