How old were you in 84? Luckily I was 4 and blissfully unaware.

They were awesome. One of my favorite teams ever. You forgot The Dr, McDowell, Orosco, Kevin Mitchell, and many more. I highly recommend "The Bad Guys Won" about the 86 mets. Good book.

You might enjoy the story about Kevin Mitchell knocking out Strawberry in a basketball game or how the flught after they won the NLCS led to the only time in history an airline has turned down the business of a pro sports team.

I watched a couple of those Mets / Cards games over the weekend. Jerry Manuel is terrible at managing. I don't know how they assemble such a suck roster with all that money spent. Reyes looks like he still should be on the DL and Bay is swinging at everything. Their starting pitching after Johan is a joke... and Johan doesn't even look the same..
