Freddie Mitchell reporting Wells out the night before his start with Olsen and Cuthead. Now, I am not going to say they get blind drunk, but I have seen the dynamic duo out a couple of times and they drink pretty good. Not staggering drunk at all, but a few shots and some mixed drinks.

Maybe it's not the best idea anymore before a start for Randy Farnsworth.

It was a night filled with country music, Chicago celebs, and athletes at Joe’s on Weed Street Thursday night.

Bears tight end, Greg Olsen, hosted his 2nd annual “Shake The Lake” music festival Thursday night to benefit his receptions for research foundation. Olsen’s teammates and fellow athletes walked the red carpet to watch country music star Darius Rucker and support a good cause.

“This is his second year. It’s getting bigger and bigger. He got Darius to come here. Anything for a good cause and a great guy like Greg and his family,” said Bears Quarterback Jay Cutler.
Cubs pitcher Randy Wells made a quick appearance because he had to be ready to pitch in today’s Cubs game. “There is a lot of mutual respect for athletes, especially for a good cause like this. Anytime a guy puts together an event like this it’s good to come out and show your support. I’m a fellow fan of football and the Bears. I’m kind of star struck, its one of my favorite players over there.”

And with the Blackhawks getting ready to drop the puck at the Madhouse on Madison, even Jay Cutler and Greg Olsen couldn’t help themselves from talking about the excitement surrounding the Stanley Cup.

“I can’t wait. We are going to the game on Monday. We are really excited. We are just as proud of them as everyone else in the city,” said Olsen.

Jay Cutler said, “Its great for the city, great for the guys. It’s such a young team to see them play so well. Just four more wins and they’ll get the Cup.”

Speaking of the Blackhawks…. Patrick Kane, Adam Burish, Andrew Ladd, Kris Versteeg, John Madden, and Dustin Byfuglien also showed up to the event to show their support for Olsen’s charity.

David Wells knows about drinking the night before a start.
