Hendry can't move Ryan Theriot? Just give him away and save the $1 million so Ricket$ shuts the fuck up about his money!

I just have a feeling Hendry stays the nice guy and claims 'there just wasnt a deal we liked". While I would like prospects, I just dont care about them if I have to pay more money so the Ricketts clan can plan their next family vacation! Maybe not during the baseball season this time? Oh, I forgot, the kids are out of school, so thats when they have to do so.

Move Gorzalany! people seem to want him, so package him with Fukudome to NY! or is their a NO TRADE clause in his deal too?

Hendry hasn't had a good move since Aramis and D Lee, and that includes the C Silva deal, because that was just trading crap for crap and hoping it didnt stink as much.

BF,when it comes to the Cubs,we sing the same tune. If he can't move ANYBODY,that is all the proof Ricketts needs this guy sucks at his job.

There's still time to move a few of these guys, but I doubt they have a complete firesale.

They aren't going to end up doing shit. Why break up the country club? It would be nice to get whatever average prospects you can for some of these guys, but I want more. If they want to get some big time real prospects then trade marmol and byrd and not the shit no one wants. You could get some serious return on both those guys. Byrd is too old to be relevant when the rebuild is complete and while Marmol is not old I don't trust his arm to stay in one piece for that long. Marmol is also going to become a money pit at some time. It sounds crazy to trade two of the actually good players, but I have had enough of this patchwork mentality year in and year out. I have no problem with this team being in the basement for the next 2 years while they rebuild the right way.

This reminds of a few years back when Hendry was asked if Ramirez, who could have returned a great deal, was tradable. His reply was, if I trade Ramirez, who is gonna play third base?

That's when I knew Hendry was shortsighted small thinking boob.

Dodgers are still in talks with the Cubs for Lilly, but also talking about Malholm.

I believe Lee didn't take the trade because he didn't want the pressure. He knew the fans would be expecting him to produce, and Lee knows that he can't hit shit this season. I'm guessing he figured why leave paradise, where everyone kisses his ass, except Big Z.

I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing today. That is like a child's answer, not the answer of a guy who manages $140M in salary.

jaysonst Sources say only real gap separating #Dodgers & #Cubs on Lilly is amount of $ Cubs would take, but could be enough to prevent a deal #trades

Ken_Rosenthal Theriot still a #Cub. Just a double switch. #TRADES #MLB

Ken_Rosenthal #Yankees and as Denver Post reported, Theriot-for-Kelly Johnson has been discussed. "Minor sniffs" on Nady, Fontenot as well

Ken_Rosenthal Decision day for #Cubs. Lilly could go to #Dodgers. #Twins, #Tigers, #Yankees varying interest. Theriot alive w #Dodgers,

SI_JonHeyman todays early predictions: dunn (#chisox), bautista (giants), lilly (dodgers), berkman (yankees - that 1 is easy)

Buster_ESPN Heard this: The Yankees are not pursuing Ted Lilly. If the Cubs wanted to put him on a platter and give him away, that would change

What the hell? I have not seen the specifics of these guys contracts, but I know it is for less than Z is making. Perez is supposed to be a bad clubhouse guy, but since the great clubhouse leader D Lee is staying and wants to come back it shouldn't be a problem  Some of the numbers I saw were Z is owed 36 mil and these guys are owed 12 and 6 mil. Why the hell would you not want to decrease your amount owed in an awful contract by half?

Ken_Rosenthal #Mets' offer of Perez/Castillo for Zambrano never had chance. #Cubs can rebuild Z's value final 2 months. He will not be moved today

There is no way lee is coming back. if the Cubs had any inkling to bring Lee back, they would have negotiated an extension (or tried to) this past winter. No effort was made in that reguard. After struggling the first 2/3 of the season, they tried to trade him (does a team try to do that, if they want him back?-not usually) to the rangers and Angels. He may WANT to come back, but he's through in Chicago. On the North side anyway.

I was just being sarcastic there. I want him gone yesterday.

Cubs should have taken the Zambrano trade. There is no way they rebuild his value in the bullpen, especially since he doesn't want to be down there.

why would we wanna trade Theriot?

what good is a "youth movement" when ur gonna trade the guys 3 years after they come up?

Theriot is a ballplayer and its a shame we wanna get a dummy in return for him

and from a money standpoint, he comes cheap...to me he is the perfect ballplayer and he will be on a World Series team one day soon...he is a future Yankee mark my words...typical Cubs and Cub fans

My assumption is that they don't view him as a starting 2B, but just a guess. I've seen him, just in the past 2 weeks or so, make quite a few defensive miscues there.

jaysonst Sounds like #Cubs likely to send both Lilly & Theriot to #Dodgers. Doesn't sound like Manny's heading for either side of Chicago

They also see being able to have Blake Dewitt for about 500K next year as opposed to Theriot who would like get between 3-4M. It's about savings a few bucks. IMO, Dewitt also has a bit more pop in his bat than Theriot and plays a better 2B.

I only watched the first couple innings but he had a RBI double and a nice play on a ball up the middle.
Lefty, not a 180 hit guy most likely but he's supposed to hit a couple home runs.
