Hurt? TJS? Taking something off for more control? All are possible. His BB/9 rate is down 1 from last year and almost 2 per 9 from two years ago. With his arm motion, it's probably a matter of time before he needs to see Dr. Andrews

I have been saying this all season, he isn't the same guy. Last night his fastball was barely hitting 91 on the gun.

I did, but it gave me some error message that it's not available or something

interesting, i actually had no idea his velocity was down

he's having a great ERA, I figured he was just as dominating as the last few years

on the other hand, not surprising...often when a reliever has great strikeout numbers one year, the next year he has injury problems or something

After last night, his ERA and WHIP are no longer "great."

Has anyone else noticed his stuff is not nearly as nasty the last few weeks? The slider just doesn't have the same movement. I say dump his ass now while you can still get something decent in return.

Send him to the Sox along with Zambrano for the Cuban Missle & Alex Rios & John Danks.

Get rid of him now. He is no longer dominant and I doubt Riggins can figure out why.

hah!! riggens is in way over his head like quade... riggens couldn't find his own ass with both hands the guy is useless... marmol is showing signs of being way overused by lou's retarded ass..... this season never had a chance and the cubs should chill with marmol and let the shark pitch more.

I would trade him....not because of innings like tonight though. Fundamental baseball says a runner on second with no outs should score if the batting team executes basic contact. I would trade him because he is going to blow up and be out for a season sooner than later and that while I still enjoy seeing the Cubs post a W....having a shutdown closer in the prime of his career is useless when everyone else sucks and the team is not contending anytime soon. The Cubs are a long way from being in a position where having a shut down closer even matters.

Mad Dog got hurt for the Phillies. Marmol would look awfully nice there with the trade I hypothetically threw out there earlier this season. The Pads will probably rule the roost though and trade Bell for the big haul.

no doubt he is a star and the cubs are a minimum 3 plus years away from being legit.... hendry can not be the one to trade anyone and be trusted to get value back in return.

well...the phillies are loaded with prospects so even Hendry may not be able to fuck that up.
