Yes.

They're about to go 2-8 on this 10 game road trip. After that the talk of a 100 loss season will be discussed by many people. I want to predict it will happen before everybody jumps on it.

Tough to lose 100 in this NL. But they will do it.

They'd have to go 39-69. Yes I think they will lose 100 games making Hendry/Quade look like the idiots they are with both destined never to manage or general manage again at the major league level.

Cub fans should root for it, then, if they want Hendry gone. 100 loses is rare and shameful. It will force Rickets to change stuff and maybe sign free agents that he wouldn't do in an 81-81 season. If you're gonna lose 90, might as well lose 100. Something for Cub fans to root for.

Entirely possible. Things will not get better until the house is cleaned. This season is going to bleed itself to death.

Do they have 28 games vs. Peoria in June ? Or are the Chiefs forefiting 22 games.

Baseball is easier to predict than earthquakes.

22-6

They now have the 3rd worst winning percentage in MLB with the EASY part of their schedule now in the books. As predicted, they are going to get booed off the field this summer in a half empty Wrigley Field.

Wrigley Field has a better chance of falling down without a quake as this fucked up team winning 22 in June. Or July. Or August. Or 2014.

Fuck those fuckin' fans who come out here and say they're Cub fans that are supposed to be behind you rippin' every fuckin' thing you do. I'll tell you one fuckin' thing, I hope we get fuckin' hotter than shit, just to stuff it up them 3,000 fuckin' people that show up every fuckin' day, because if they're the real Chicago fuckin' fans, they can kiss my fuckin' ass right downtown and PRINT IT.

"They're really, really behind you around here... my fuckin' ass. What the fuck am I supposed to do, go out there and let my fuckin' players get destroyed every day and be quiet about it? For the fuckin' nickel-dime people who turn up? The motherfuckers don't even work. That's why they're out at the fuckin' game. They oughta go out and get a fuckin' job and find out what it's like to go out and earn a fuckin' living. Eighty-five percent of the fuckin' world is working. The other fifteen percent come out here. A fuckin' playground for the cocksuckers. Rip them motherfuckers. Rip them fuckin' cocksuckers like the fuckin' players. we got guys bustin' their fuckin' ass, and them fuckin' people boo. And that's the Cubs? My players get around here. I haven't seen it this fuckin' year. Everybody associated with this organization have been winners their whole fuckin' life. Everybody. And the credit is not given in that respect.

"Alright, they don't show because we're 5 and 14... and unfortunately, that's the criteria of them dumb 15 motherfuckin' percent that come out to day baseball. The other 85 percent are earning a living. I tell you, it'll take more than a 5 and 12 or 5 and 14 to destroy the makeup of this club. I guarantee you that. There's some fuckin' pros out there that wanna win. But you're stuck in a fuckin' stigma of the fuckin' Dodgers and the Phillies and the Cardinals and all that cheap shit. It's unbelievable. It really is. It's a disheartening fuckin' situation that we're in right now. Anybody who was associated with the Cub organization four or five years ago that came back and sees the multitude of progress that's been made will understand that if they're baseball people, that 5 and 14 doesn't negate all that work. We got 143 fuckin' games left.

"What I'm tryin' to say is don't rip them fuckin' guys out there. Rip me. If you wanna rip somebody, rip my fuckin' ass. But don't rip them fuckin' guys 'cause they're givin' everything they can give. And right now they're tryin' to do more than God gave 'em, and that's why we make the simple mistakes. That's exactly why."

I don't think so...

But I also didn't think they would play THIS poorly. I knew the defense would be a problem, but that among almost everything else has been particularly brutal over the last 3-4 weeks or so. I still think they come in around 75 wins with 80 being their ceiling, but I can't say that 95 or 100 L's would surprise me at this point.

Ricketts sucks

Do you really think the Cubs would be much better if the Tribune still owned them? Its the contracts and no trade clauses given out that have killed this team. Ricketts may not be doing anything earth shattering to help them, but the Cubs bed was made long before Ricketts took ownership.

Agreed Frank. Ricketts has nothing to do with this mess currently. This offseason will be a big test for him in my eyes.

And we really need to bring back the Elmhurst Shreve mult for more deep thoughts

I didnt mean to blame him for the mess. I do think other owners may have made some sweeping changes (Fire hendry, Hire Team President etc) and that would have been the way to go.

I am extremely unimpressed with Ricketts. Every time he speaks, he sounds more confused and like a deer in headlights regarding the organization.

He is not responsible for the mess, but he is ABSOLUTELY responsible for the direction of the organization. This team is going nowhere at Ludacris speed.

Im very frustrated. I dont remember any other year where there was just absolutely NOTHING on the horizon. Yeah, Castro is good, but he can be frustrating to watch. Barney is Theriot. Marmol is hurt and probably coming to the end of a dominant run. The rest will not be here when theyre competitive again. No young guys to watch. No chance of trades. No contending this year. Its just sooooo pointless.

Happy 20k.

I haven't been impressed with Ricketts yet, but I've been saying I'm giving him this year to really evaluate the organization from the top down. This season I'm counting on some wholesale front office changes. If not, I'll be joining the Ricketts sucks crowd

That's pretty much where I stand. This season was lost before it was started (Hell, it was lost about 4 years ago due to bad contracts), so I'm not going to rail against the guy yet. If changes don't come after this year, then there's obviously an issue.
