I'll be there to see the lights out Vogelsong v Davis match. I might just run out on the field to keep it from happening for a while.

Davis already pitching like shit 2 batters into the game.

This experiment needs to end now. He is terrible. He used to be decent. He is no longer remotely decent.

Lopez and Davis starting on the same day. Throw in Zito and you have some of the worst pitchers in the league on one day.

Everytime I see the Giants lineup I am amazed once again that they won the WS and are 10 games over .500 this season.

Watch Zito throw a CG 3 hit shut out.

But then you should look at their pitching staff and figure out thats how they got there.

The only person with a +4 ERA is Zito.

...And Zito's earning a lot of $$$$ being bad at pitching, while Rodrigo Lopez & Doug Davis are bad at pitching earning a fraction of what Barry's earning in San Francisco.

Any positive feelings that came out of yesterday's nice win (with all of the HR's, etc) are now gone, plus more. What a pile of crap.

Doug Davis, thanks for trying, here's your severance......

This was a perfect example of Quade's suckitude: Davis obviously has nothing and the game was still in hand in the bottom of the 4th down 3 with a man on 3rd and two outs but he refused to pinch hit. Davis proceeds to strike out then give up 5 and counting the next inning.

I'm starting to wonder if Mike Quade's in over his head as Cubs' manager. Granted, Quade's Cubs played good near the end of last season, but they were a distant memory from the playoff picture when Lou Piniella had seen enough.

I can't fault leaving a starter in for too long on the first game of a double header. He needed innings badly today regardless of cost. I understand there still needs to be a balance, but I think it's somewhat reasonable to lean more towards sticking with him

Can you really pinch hit in the 4th inning during a double header? You'll kill your bullpen. Doug Davis and Quade need to go, but pinch hitting there would not be the best decision.

Let's not forget there's a second game this evening at Clark & Addison. I think the last thing the Cubs wanted to do is go to their bullpen this soon...

Thanks for explaining what a "doubleheader" is SHARK. With Dan and DB's posts, I had no idea there was second game this evening at 1060 W. Addison in Chicago, IL, USA, Planet Earth, Milky Wax Galaxy.

I see Hendry's 5M dollar man, the great John Grabow, made an appearance.

It appears the Cub are gonna make 2011 Zito look like the juiced up, Cy Young winning, 2002 Barry Zito.

These guys fucking blow.

Good to see Shawon Dunston. One of my favorite players. Had a lot of heart. Don't bean him as he always rushed the mound - lol! Made himself a serviceable pro over a 17 year ML career.
