Quade never should have been hired because he is totally incompetent and has no business being a big league manager period. The more important fact is he has no ability to develop young talent or talent in general. He almost blew Dempsters arm up in April, he destroyed Mateo by pitching him 5 innings when he is a short reliever and he has no clue when it comes to when to pull a pitcher, etc.

I am confident a real manager knows how to manage a fucking pitching staff, not to mention the rest of the roster. This ass clown can't manage if his life depended on it and Ricketts should put him and Hendry out of their (and our) misery.

I don't give a shit how bad everyone in ever other job is. I want a manager that demands that his team play fundamental baseball. This shit effort and ass kissing and excuse making by him is intolerable.

Bullshit IMU. Clint Hurdle was available as was Eric Wedge who is doing reasonably well in Seattle. They also could have made a run at Kirk Gibson before the interim tag was removed.

Ramirez, Soriano, Zambrano, Fukudome, etc. are all known entities. There is nothing more to learn from them playing. The one player you might have had a chance to move--when he was decent (Marmol) -- is now destroyed and won't get you squat in a trade.

But if he had a closer who has issues with control, after 2 walks in a row a better manager might have somebody else warming up in the pen, and after another walk might have brought him in.

Thats just one recent example of something not good that Quade has done.

Sure he can be. Every manager can do the job well or poorly. It's not like this board is filled with people mad at him for not winning 95 games. I see a lot of well thought out posts that explain specific things he is doing wrong. He is 100% in control of those. Baseball is a sport where you can judge a manager based on the decisions he makes and the way he is carrying himself. Darkside, who obviously is a smart and well educated man, has done that in this thread.

IMU, I'm not saying he's a bad manager based on the W/L record. Only that he's a bad manager based on the things he does.
For example the Castro flippyflopping in the batting order. Confounding. The poor bullpen management is pretty significant. Yes, he's been given poor players. But he's been managing poor players poorly.
