Are you fucking kidding me! This is what the fucking braintrust of marketing dicksuckers, PR asswipes and Media relations douchebags came up with?

You can't even come up with an actual date you are going to speak to us??? Just an "about date?"

Now will you actually say anything?

Every new thing to come out from the Cubs organization is more embarrassing than the last.

If they gave a date/time, they could at least sell some tickets.

I am not arguing that he won't have anything substantial to say. But if the owner is not controlling the direction of the team don't you view that as a problem?

He is probably just announcing the "Quade" season ticket package for next year.

Isn't the starting QB of your football team Rex Grossman? You have your own problems.

What is the Quade Package?
Get 14 games for the price of 10 if you smile and clap excitedly?
Don't the need a gayass nickname for it? Like:

KamaQuade package: You get 10 games and you get to kill youself at the end
PortaQuade Package: You get to watch a bunch of shit for 10 games.
QuadeMoto Package: Ring the bell, ring the bell!

Is that the one where you show up for 15 games towards the end of the year but then don't do shit the rest of the time?

Fuck the Cubs,Boise's park not up to Ricketts standards:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/ba ... 1109.story

BOISE, Idaho -- Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts says the Boise, Idaho, ballpark that serves as home to the organization's Class-A team is cramped, outdated and not up to the standards of minor league facilities across the nation.

Ricketts toured Memorial Stadium Monday along with Boise Mayor Dave Bieter and others trying to stir public support for building a new stadium in the Treasure Valley.

Ricketts, whose family has owned the Cubs since 2009, visited Boise as part of his tour of facilities around the country that host the organization's minor league affiliates.

"The facility here is below standard," Ricketts told the Boise Chamber of Commerce on Monday. "All the (minor-league) facilities we have are substantially better."

Ricketts did not make any offer Monday to contribute to the cost of building a new facility, but his comments could add momentum and urgency to the drive by the city and the Better Boise Coalition to build a new ballpark and sports complex, estimated at $25 million.

"We want to have the best organization in baseball. That includes having training facilities at every level of the organization that are representative of a great organization," said Ricketts, who said he has not had conversations with any other city about changing affiliations. "We're very, very supportive of the efforts here in town. It would be a good thing for the Cubs organization to have a better park here for us."

The Boise Hawks have been affiliated with the Cubs since 2001 and its player development contract with the major league team runs through the 2012 season. Supporters of a new stadium say Ricketts and other team officials will consider stadium conditions in the equation for renewing the contract with Boise or any other city.

The Hawks have long complained about the inadequacies of Memorial Stadium, which was built in 1989 for $2.3 million in private money. The stadium lacks many of the amenities that have become commonplace in minor-league baseball stadiums in other cities.

The team clubhouse doesn't have enough room for the 40 or so players, coaches and roving instructors. It has two toilets and urinals for players. It lacks a film room, a place to eat and a room for players to relax before or after games. One batting cage, a small training room and an undersized dugout need to grow, team officials have said. And it lacks space to do laundry, a daily chore for a baseball team.

"If our facility is not up to Tom Ricketts' standards, or the standards that are presented in all other cities that the Cubs are in, I believe they are going to look elsewhere," said Todd Rahr, president and general manager of the Boise Hawks.

But the challenge facing supporters is raising enough cash in a down economy to give the Hawks and its fans a modern new home.

The Better Boise Coalition is circulating donation forms on a brochure with donation options for $500, $1,000, $1,500 or $2,000, a sign for now that fundraising will be focused privately rather than publicly.

 Of course he didn't. Maybe he can use Boise as leverage and move the Cubs there from Wrigley.

No, Rex Grossman is not the starter. Never said I didn't have a football team to worry about.

Oh, maybe because the owner can hire or fire the GM, the coach and the President who haven't produced a real MLB player in 10 years until Castro came out of nowhere.

I do think he is spineless, but at some point when then revenues are not more than the debt service + 3% on the capital invested, even he must say "You're fired" or hire someone to say 'you're fired" which is why I think Crane is around.

Yeah the Cubs seem to be doing just fine under his leadership. Good thing we have him in place to protect dumb us dumb ass fans from ourselves.

I want to know if he will take questions....and IF he does, will any reporter ask him the TOUGH questions with the facts to backup said questions. Also..., and maybe more importantly, ask the god damn follow up question after ricketts gives you the schmoozy non answer-answer. If I had to pick one person to sort of "go at it" with a q & a with ricknutts...I would pick bernstein so long has he would sack up and do it and not just be tough guy hiding behind microphone in studio.

Anyway...ricketts needs to be grilled on real issues, but I bet it'll be a mini love fest with no reporter being tough enough to stand up to fanboy. they'll broach and back off.

Fuck the wrigley experience. Someone should call him out on that bs too. Perception is, he cares more about stadium than team / winning.

Ricketts is becoming Obama.

Ricketts is not a leader. He is an owner. Players have to be the leaders. Manager has to be the leader. The owner puts guys in place to win. Hendry has done that over the past ten years. Hendry did not choke for four of those ten years. The players did. The manager did. Im not calling everyone a dumb fan, but at the same time making Ricketts the owner of all this blame is ridiculous, just like it is for Hendry.

I think you're kidding yourself if you don't believe every Cub fan would absolutely love to get rid of most of these players. Problem is, it's not possible.

Getting rid of the people who brought them in is possible.

This is a very interesting defense of Hendry:

He did not choke, the players did.

So any player that Hendry brings in that chokes cannot be pinned on Hendry. Just must be unbelievably bad luck on the G.M's part.

Well in that case, since the GM was previously in charge of the minor leagues, let's just bring up some guys (the G.M.'s guys) to replace the "chokers" (also the G.M.'s guys). Hmmmm, notice a pattern here?

Once again, Jim Hendry would have been fired years ago from any other big market club.

Not in Hooterville !!!! (hat tip to Sox Fan Bob)

Yes I do think he would have been fired. And I'm not trying to put words in your mouth. Your words, not mine: "Hendry did not choke for four of those ten years. The players did"

A big market team, let's say the Red Sox since that's who little Tommy wants to emulate, are in it to win rings. Not to win division titles, or to assemble teams "with the talent to win it all three years out of six" (the problem with that statement being that they won it all zero years out of six). You honestly think Hendry would have been kept around for this many years?

Also your words: "Unlike most of the other Cubs fans, my anger is with the manager and the players"........and who is responsible for bringing in the manager and players? Is this the most unfair conspiracy against a GM in MLB history or is the GM shitty at his job?
