Rizzo with another homer!!! Put a nice swing on that one. Samardjia has looked okay. Not scored upon yet, but has dodged a couple bullets. The line drive to Castro for the double play that ended the 3rd inning helped the cause. I'm starting to wonder how many more games the Cubs might have won, had Rizzo been with the team out of spring training. He was the best hitter in spring training and between what he did at AAA and so far since being called up....it's looking more and more like a financial decision aimed at keeping him under team control an extra season. Not that even with him they would have contened. I just wonder how many more games they may have won. They certainly look better now, with him.

That's the kind of cutting edge sports thought that only Steve in Elmhurst could come up with.

Volstad makes his triumphant return to the rotation tonight. This one should be over early.

The vaunted Tuesday Cub lineup.

DeJesus CF
Castro SS
Rizzo 1B
Soriano LF
LaHair RF
Clevenger C
Barney 2B
Valbuena 3B
Volstad P

Edited to indicate LaHair will most likely be playing in RF. Tribsters had two (2) first basemen. Hard to do.

As long as Castro and Rizzo are in there, that is all I care about.

That lineup has been pretty much unbeatable.

Cubs going with the two 1B lineup. Innovative.

Sporting a lefty lineup of epic proportions. I added in the 30 day OBP which was a little humbling. Still probably my favorite lineup.

Volstad is decent for an inning or 2 and then shits himself every time. Make him a god damn reliever already and see if he can get you a good inning or 2 on multiple nights per week.

LaHair has still got it. Just got to give him consistent playing time.

Baker actually did something. Too bad he can't play catcher.

Don't make a mistake.

He'll never be no Konerko, though.

If Marmol can throw his fastball for strikes, he becomes unhittable.

WCUB attempts to go 3-1. Here is your lineup for tonight.

DeJesus CF
Castro SS
Rizzo 1B
Soriano LF
LaHair RF
Soto C
Barney 2B
Valbuena 3B
Garza P

Take note Chus. Your All Star WCUB 1st baseman LaHair is in the lineup against a lefty in Mike Minor.

A little more Clevenger and a lot less Soto and I would be happy.

Clawing their way out of the gutter.

Look out Houston, they are in the passing lane and setting their sights on the Brewers.

It could be worse. They could be getting perfect-gamed by Phil Humber.
