Not a bad idea. As much as Baez looks like a good future fixture in the lineup, he's not a natural 3rd baseman and the Cubs really don't have anyone that fits that description.

No way I trade Baez for Headley and also commit big bucks to Headley. No way. Baez' ceiling could be very high whereas Headley hasn't proven over an extension period of time that's he's a star.

Maybe Lake, Vogelbach and McNutt if SD wants young talent...
