No. In the first place, he's not that good and he has a bad back, so he's likely to break down again. Plus, in order to aquire someone like this, it would mean trading away a prospect. That's the last thing we want to do....trade away someone who might be valuable down the road for a stop-gap type player. If we trade prospects it has to be for someone who would fit into long range plans. A piece of the puzzle type of guy. Morel is not that kind of player.

I can picture all of the Cubs executives walking into the office reaching up to touch a picture of you that hangs above the entrance to the building, akin to how the Notre Dame football players do with that one thing on their way out to the field. The Cubs skipper has admitted scanning the waiver wire for anyone who would be considered a step up from the current bad hybrid at 3rd right now. If they could get Morel from the Sox for some wandering career minor leaguer (Bobby Scales-type guy),then why not?

I already said that above,not much. I just think he is a little upgrade of what passes for a Cubs 3rd basemen right now. I still think Luis Valebuena might be decent. He looks good at the plate but can't hit for average. He has a nice glove,too.
