I think you are wrong on this one. Theo and Jed value guys who just kick ass. Guys that dont know numbers, play with their gut. They dont want them in mass numbers and they dont want them running the team, but I think they would be willing to see Ozzie as a 3rd base coach. Its why they hired Sveum and Bosio. Its why they havent fired Bosio yet.

Now, you might say "No way Ozzie just plays the role as 3rd base coach", but I think that is the only way he would do it. If someone he was friends with got the cubs job and asked him to be an asst manager, like Joey Cora? Not that I am suggesting Joey Cora, but just using an example.

Maybe Ozzie is good friends with Davey Martinez?

Ozzie wouldnt be the manager because of some alleged affections for Reinsdorf, but I think he would be a base coach for a friend if asked.
