of course Bruce would never actually say anything like this specifically, but its 'what he hears' but he isnt saying it. So, dont say he was wrong, but if its right, he was right!

Girardi, Tanaka, rumor is Clark the Cub would've signed with the Yankees if they'd offered him pants.

Just like Joe Girardi...if money is equal or close, what person in Tanaka's situation would ever choose the Cubs over the Yankees?

Maybe 432 of those "Horry Kow" shirts will sweeten the pot!

Hideki Irabu chose the Yankees and he's dead now. Maybe Tanaka wants to live.

Kinda surprised this guy would even consider chicago over LA. The gap in money has to be kinda large

@Kazuto_Yamazaki: Tanaka's decision (on his new team, not avi) could be in 24 hours. NYY, LAD, ARI are strong favors. http://t.co/CvxCQYhfTe

Also said Cubs arent the favorites

It said a ton of things. lol

of course, unless Sir Tinkle reads japanese, you had to click the translate button.

I cant imagine at this point any person close enough to the guy would ever rule out the Cubs, if according to all reports, the money they offered is the most.

So, even if you dont want to come here, you make sure everyone might need to cough up a little more!

And I cant imagine the Dodgers just telling him, we will give you more than anyone else.

reports do have the cubs as a favorite, but I would still be surprised. Not shocked, as they can offer more, but I think $125 mill and live in LA could work for me.

It might have helped the Cubs chances IF the Cubs signed 4-5 ML hitters to one year contracts before even approaching Tanaka. He would have seen an effort to improve. That's why I think Theo is lying about this all together. He knew why the Cubs would be shunned before even entering this derby.

One could say that for the last 3 years we could have signed the $5 m player and then drafted in the 12th round and got more future 5M$ guys.

Not defending Ricketts in any of this, but I am willing to pay the price (And I have paid!) for the clear objective of the goal of winning a world series.

Not to be a Good team, but to be the best team.

Taking 3 steps back to go 5 forward.

Now, if you take that 4th step back. Then I will start getting pissed!
