from my guy out there hearing very good things, and even Gonzo saying he liked him more than Will Middlebrooks in a futures All Star game.

It sure seems simple if he solved some vision problems and he works out. Actually too easy. I will wait to see it

Of course he looks good now. He is taking bp in the desert against Cubs pitchers. Even Bernsteen could hit out there.

That he is fine, SEEING the ball and crushing it.

Just seems way to easy that teams gave up on a guy with a vision issue after being a #1 pick?

Sometimes you take a chance.

If the Sox had gotten a guy like this, you would have started 4 threads about Jerry being cheap at Kenny/Hahn trying to catch lightening in a bottle.

I know if he was in Glendale, Good Dolphin would have an OLT authentic jersey (No Reebok fake shit) anbd Keyzer would have given me a full breakdown on his WAR numbers that only Rick Hahn found.

Huge bonus if he works out, just seems to easy and I will not be throwing flowers at Theo for picking up others trash and hoping it works out. I think it is just putting $20 on the 100-1 wheel of fortune game. Most of them dont work out, but the one guy that does is a star for no money.

Rather see my GM make sure he doesnt sign Edwin Jackson or Adam Dunn, because a swing and a a miss on these guys do huge damage!

That was a horrific trade by the Rangers. Gotta give Theo props on this one.

He needs to be the starting 3B for the entire year and see what the kid can do.

Such as Eaton or Davidson? Consensus were those were good moves. Don't be a crybaby.

Maybe you should take off the Cubbie blue glasses. They were good moves because those guys are were legit prospects and are not damaged goods coming off of injuries like Olt clearly is.

RFDC is correct.

The same staff the Sox couldn't hit off of while BEING SWEPT BY THE CUBS LAST SEASON?

Relax, I said they were good moves. It's opening weeks of spring training. Of course everyone is rainbows and flower petals. Don't be so sensitive that no ones cares about the Sox.

If Olt works out, it really changes the entire rebuild. It makes Castro, Baez or Bryant sensible trade bait for top of the line starting pitching.

You guys crack me up.

I am giving Theo no credit if the guy works out and you and frank want me to take off the Cubby blue glasses?

To date, Theo has made one move. Edwin Jackson, so as for ML talent, he gets a D- to date.

remember though, every cub fan is all gaga over Theo!

I am content with the plan, but it's just a plan and no, "changing the plan" isn't OK either, as they have alluded to.

if this team really shows what they have talked about all along, 2015 and spend the year showing a steady offensive improvement and a .500 team, Yes, the cries for Spending on pitching will be loud and fans wont 'UNDERSTAND" anymore.

No shit. Still no logical explanation for that one. I bet Edwin fell out of his chair when that deal was offered.

The explanation they offer is that he eats up innings?

didnt know that was a new stat? for a team handing out innings to anyone that can throw, it just didnt make any sense with the rest of the plan.

I actually see the value in an "innings eater," especially with the Cubs shitty relief pitching. Obviously though, the "innings eater" can't be worse than the shitty relievers. It's why I can't stand Shark and his 100 pitches by the 5th bullshit. Again something than can be overlooked, but not with a 4.3 ERA.

Maybe he was pitching the day me met his wife or proposed to his wife or whatever happened at Wrigley.

Would have rather had them sign 5 guys back from injuries for $970K, vet minimum, send them to AAA and see if any of them get healthy to trade.

costs much less.

but 5 years???????????????????

So they now have a shitty pitcher who eats innings. Along with a nice chunk of the payroll. I just can't let this one go. It bugs the shit out of me. And then having to listen to Little Lord Fauntelroy is the cherry on the shit sundae.

The guy hadn't pitched 200 innings in the two years prior to the signing and had only pitched 200 innings twice in a 10 year career.

They signed him because they thought they were being smart with an undervalued, young player. It just turns out they were wrong. Now they are retrofitting the reasoning.

Where is your Conor Gilespie jersey?

Look at Gillaspie's splits. He is going to make a fine platoon 3rd baseman.
