I was looking for cheap Sox tickets. Decided to see if the Cubs were up this year. They are.

Last year the Cubs were the only team in MLB that didn't allow Stub Hub to sell their tickets. Despite the fact that Stub Hub is an MLB sponsor.

Cubs did it for obvious reasons. They have a big base of season ticket holders looking to unload tickets at half price or better. Thus the Cubs can't sell their remaining tickets at their prices so they lose a lot of money.

Wonder why they're up this year. Maybe Stub Hub said to MLB, "Fuck the Cubs, we have a partnership, we get all 30 clubs."

Didn't the Cubs try their own season-ticket holder resale thing a few years ago.

I think you're right.

I don't know why MLB has a parnership with STUB HUB. Maybe they're waiting for the contract to expire.

Because the NHL, NBA and NFL made their own secondary ticket web sites. Which means the Clubs get a get that 10 or 15 percent of the resale. This will add up to a lot more money than whatever STUB HUB pays MLB for the partnership.

Are you sure they didn't allow StubHub sales? I seem to recall looking at tickets on StubHub last year.

I didn't look last year. I remember there was an article about it before the season started.

Did you pick any up? I grabbed pair section 141 section row 6 for half face for next Friday's Tribe/Sox tilt. Sox fans are reasonable in their Stub Hub prices.

Here's an article about the Cubs opting out of Stub Hub before last season started.

Actually, Cubs were one of three teams that opted out last year.

No. I've gotta coordinates dates with my family. Just looking to see what they're going for. A lot of times, they're real cheap the day before or day of a game.

Did you read the article? The Cubs didn't prevent the selling of tickets on StubHub, which they can't in any case, they simply opted out of the MLB agreement with StubHub. I knew their tickets were still on there.

Though the team is still "exploring options" and has not completely ruled out joining the agreement, StubHub is proceeding as if they will not be a part of the deal, ESPN Chicago said. Though fans will still be able to buy and sell Cubs tickets on StubHub, it means that Cubs ticket holders may not be able to make full use of StubHub’s electronic transfer features, according to the report.

Gotcha. They just wouldn't help with the instant downloads. It's required that the teams confirm the bar codes to stub hub for that to happen, obviously.

Ok. Sorry. Move along.

I know. I admitted my mistake. Sorry. I remember reading that Cubs weren't on Stub Hub last year. I had it wrong.

Nice Kerry Sayers like reporting they bumped the cut time form 2 hours to 6 hours before game time last year.

Stub Hub still do discount codes or they cut that shit out once they dominated the market for secondary tickets.

They still offer them, for shitty events, shitty seats. They reduce their fees.
