Travis Wood with nice pinch hit double to put Cubs up on Marlins in extra innings.

What is Travis Wood's contract status? I'm wondering if he stays on and ends up being the 3 or 4 pitcher when they win a World Series.

He is DH when the National League moves to it.

I'll be curious to see how the rotation evolves. I know Verlander hasn't won a World Series yet, but the Cubs are going to need a guy at that level. A Cain, Wainwright, Carpenter, etc. They had that rotation almost a decade ago. What amazes me is they were able to get a guy like Prior in the first round; yet, who have they picked in the past four years of futility as far as pitchers go?

Not sure you have noticed but Verlander is officially awful. Just another guy who makes me nervous about having to acquire a top of the rotation guy on the free agent market. Verlander is going to cripple the Tigers with that contract.
