when Len Kasper gets on the air and says that Bryant and Baez have the chance to make 5-6 all star games each by the time the reach 28

This isn't the first instance of rainbow farting from that guy, either. Attach a "best ever" to a few of his statements and you have a younger and less hip dressing Hawk.

Seems about right to me. They each have a chance.

So does anyone who is 22 or younger. Are you sure Baez is?

Hawk sucks. He's been pretty much unlikable since Paciorek left.

Kasper the Friendly Rainbow Farter ain't much better. I believe he also had Almora as a definite to be an MLB impact player, even as he struggles at A.

better hope MLB pitchers forget how to throw strikes because that window closes on Bryant next year

I like Len and Hawk. Optimism is ok. Even homerism. Just chill, bros

Saying a hot prospect "has the chance" to make many AS games is way worse than definitively knowing who was the best player ever at walking from the on deck circle to the batters box.

Or the best player ever at rounding second.

Or the best player ever at slowing down on the warning track.

A heinybird is a type of bird that flies in circles until it ends up with its head up its ass. For spanky, that must be very painful.

Ill never forget that. Such perfect phrasing from Hawk. He asked in such a serious tone

D.J., do you know what a Heinybird is?

No, it really is not. One is an unreasonable projection based on almost no observation or scouting experience. The other is an opinion based on first hand observations over decades.

If you really want to blow your mind, imagine if Steve Stone said that about a White Sox prospect.

But it wasn't "many AS games"

It was 'make 5 or 6 AS games before they turn 28.' That means they come up next year and make the AS game every year 5 or 6 years in a row. Sure its possible, but not very likely. If Hawk had said something like that, Cubs fans would have jumped all over it.

For reference Paul Konerko has made 6 AS game over his career and didn't make his first until he was 26.

Do you know who was the best player ever at tightening his batting gloves??

In this thread saying a player might make Multiple All star teams is a bad thing.

In the other one, that's being touted as a reasonable expectation. Interesting.

Do you honestly think that stops Hawk from saying he was the best at it?

If Hawk had said something like "Matt Davidson has the chance to make 6 AS games before he turns 29, Cubs fans would be laughing all over the place. And rightly show since Davidson is 22 right now. That would mean he comes up next year and makes 6 AS games in a row.

At least you now realize that Hawk is not the only homer announcer in town.
