My enthusiasm for Maddon coming on board will be tempered somewhat if they lose Bosio in this deal.

I've been very impressed with Bosio, especially considering the lack of top-line talent on deck in the pitching area.

I'm thinking Martinez will be the only coach he brings unless Davey gets the Devil Rays job.

I'm just not really all that excited about this. I guess the years of failure have worn me down.

Bosio would be a big loss.

I heard Levine speculating that Bosio would move to Molitor in Minnesota. That would suck. Bosio should be more ethical.

"Molitor will be looking to assemble a group of coaches that he feels are the best in the league, as well as individuals that he feels comfortable with. That could lead to a staff resembling a Milwaukee Brewers All-Star team. Ted Simmons, Pete Vuckovich, Dale Sveum, Robin Yount and Chris Bosio are said to be on that list."

Throw in Cecil Cooper and you've got the 27 Yankees of coaching.

Will bet anything they have already talked about it, which would be tampering.

I'm tempered. Maddon with a much better roster ended up 4 games better than Renteria did in 2014.

Doesn't Bosio have a history with Molitor? They were both in Milwaukee a long time

Is there anything more exciting on this planet than a staff filled with former Brewers all-stars? Eh?

Bosio has 1 year left.

As does Maddon's former guy in TB, Jim Hickey... *cue the Beardown conspiracy music

Think about it this way... if I'm Epstoyer, we can't bring in Joe's guy now with all this talk of tampering. They are saying all the right things about Bosio, keep him around and see if the traction with young pitchers continues. When Hickey is up in the offseason, you bring him here for the years left in Maddon's contract. Bosio could be offered a roving pitching consultant gig, or he could take the best job available elsewhere.

If I'm Bosio I don't hang around in that scenario. I'm asking the Cubs for a contract extension or I'm jumping ship for the Twins.
