Endless revenue streams?

They can't even get the WGN tv contract replaced.

The HUGE TV payday is coming in Year 10 of The Plan: When business syncs with baseball.

I think the Cubs will be on WGN again for the next 5 years or whatever. It is all negotiating. And the Cubs gain a little bit of an advantage with the recent moves. Cubs ratings will be higher this year than the last few seasons.

Or maybe those games will go to channel 201 on Comcast.

I'll see you there! The Cubs pressure isn't based on ticket sales. Your team is a perennial contender for the attendance title. The pressure is to actually win some games. You don't want to lose jimmypasta again!

Whoa! Whoa, Whoa!

Have we made a final decision on that? I know BigFan saved a spot on the bandwagon for Jimmy, but I believe that was rescinded. I for one would welcome young James back with open arms, but I think we're going to need a vote for full reinstatement.

Jed Hoyer is a de facto assistant to Theo Epstein; their titles are just puffed up to get them out of their respective old offices.

Do they have an assistant GM?

Hank Scorpio's favorite front office guy, Randy Bush.

Do most Cubs fans think Theo Epstein is the GM?

He may as well be. He's the ranking baseball-ops guy in the organization. I never buy this "team president" or "football czar" stuff. It's like saying Brian Burke isn't the general manager of the Flames, he's the "president." Bullshit. If Brian Burke is in your organization, every decision is going through him.

Brandon Bollig nods approvingly.

I wonder which team will be the first to have a czardom czar who oversees the football czar, who oversees the GM. Probably the Redskins.

Which is exactly what a President is. The General Manager slots under him. He handles much of the negotiation and day to day stuff.

Theo is big time. More important than a GM.

Bats need to mature to be good, but still would like one more vet bat on this team on a 2 year deal.

Maybe eventually except Rizzo will hit 3. But on Opening Day it is likely to be

Coghlan
Baez
Rizzo
Soler
Castro
Montero
Alcantara
Valbuena

I know Hoyer likes Coughlin and is dropping some Phil Emery like info in his favor of leading the league in hard hit balls, plus the guy is a ex roy. This is an example of a guy thats going to get the chance to be the Cf and leadoff man. Dont love it, but think it will happen

I thought he was going to be a stud and he just flopped hard after his rookie season.
