My Dad had a guy working for him for years, but the guy's production decreased, the quality of his work decreased and he fired him. When you have better options, you cut your losses and move on. Eat the remainder of the contract, rather than hamstring the team with that steaming pile of crap.

i personally think edlose jackson was a shrewd move by "thed" (or what am i supposed to call them?) because in signing him they simultaneously addressed their desires to placate cubbie nation and also to lose as many games as possible to get high draft picks like BABE FUCKIN SCHWARBER.

so they toss a nice deal to this guy to come here and stink up the joint and he did that job like no other, and now well.... idk. whatever. he did the job akin to a pro wrestler doing the job.... and he's well compensated and the cubs have BABE FUCKING RUTH coming, and that's after babe bryant, so i mean holy shit it's going to be a goddamn maternity ward @ the confines for the next few years.
