Wada comes up to bat with 1 out in the bottom of the 5th inning. He took 3 pitches -- all strikes -- never swung. Wada takes the mound in the top half of the 6th (thrown around 80 pitches), retires the first hitter -- Bryce Harper -- then Maddon decides he wants Justin Grimm to come in -- who gives up a solo home run to Wilson Ramos.

Stop pinch hitting Baxter. Bad game for Maddon.

Another game I'm glad I'm not watching. Grilling and drinking are about to start.

These guys just aren't ready yet. Theyre close but still do too many things wrong to be upper tier.

Castro batting cleanup is just dumb baseball.
David Ross catching instead of Montero never makes sense, even with Lester pitching.

They are fun to watch. They will be in the wildcard hunt all year.

I think it is about all we can ask for right now.

Montero needs breaks. He will wear down over the season.

Wouldn't mind giving him a break if Ross could hit his weight at least.

Ross is a waste of a roster spot. Personal catchers are a joke. Lester cost all that money and gets to pick his catcher also. Total Bullshit. The Wada at bat and then being lifted was a big Maddon goof also.

Probably true

Ramirez will be back soon, many teams like the reds are done. The cubs could improve this team fairly quickly through fire sales.

Holy fuck--did Bryant's HR go over the video board? I could barely see the ball on the replay.

Good to see Hendricks string together 2 games now.

And of course Kris "Boom" Bryant.

Nice W for the youngsters. Russell looks like he belongs at the Junior Prom.

I haven't watched a lot of Cubs games, but I've seen enough to know they will at least get the last WILD CARD spot.

At the very least. The late season team will not look like this. Everything will be improved by then via trades and deadline deals. I have faith.

People at the park saying it cleared the scoreboard.

Some guy was filming it in slow motion behind home plate.

Awesome that he worked the count to full before hand as well (3rd in MLB in forced full counts)

He might be better than I even thought.
